Question…...is there currently another planet that we can all affordably catch a flight to tomorrow….with at least 3 departures daily….if you know of one, please let me know so I can pass the word along, and hop on board with my family. At the rate that we have polluted and decimated this planet’s resources, one would think there is a readily available Earth 2, but there is None!! “Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree*: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. In addition, most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position.” (https://climate.nasa.gov/) The most recent study released by the United Nations, reports that it is basically crunch time to get our act together as a planet population. The choice to do nothing,will result in rising oceans, more species extinction, extreme drought and flooding will be more common, decreased supply of drinking water, extinction of forests and trees, their existence of which is necessary for our survival, because they soak up the carbon dioxide in our environment, costly and limited food supplies and more. Are we ready for this…... Here are some small changes that We can make, that will add up to make a difference: (David Suzuki Foundation) -Change to energy-efficient light bulbs. -Unplug computers, TVs and other electronics when you’re not using them. -Wash clothes in cold or warm (not hot) water. -Dryers are energy hogs, so hang dry when you can and use dryer balls when you can’t. -Install a programmable thermostat. -Look for the Energy Star label when buying new appliances. -Winterize your home to prevent heat from escaping. -Get a home or workplace energy audit to identify where you can make the most energy-saving gains.
